1. Introduction

By accessing or using redsheepsec.com (the "Site") or the content it publishes — including reports, analysis, detection rules, hunt queries, tools, and tracker data (collectively, "the Content") — you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("T&C"). If you do not agree with any part of these T&C, you must refrain from using the Content.

2. Permitted Use

2.1 Non-Commercial Use

The Content is freely available for non-commercial use. This includes personal research, academic purposes, cybersecurity awareness, internal defensive security operations, and open-source projects. Users may utilize the Content without prior approval, provided that appropriate attribution is given to RedSheep Security.

2.2 Commercial Use

Commercial use of the Content is prohibited without prior written approval from the owner of RedSheep Security. Commercial use includes, but is not limited to:

  • Incorporation of the Content into commercial products or services.
  • Redistribution of the Content in a commercial capacity.
  • Monetization of insights, reports, or rules derived from the Content.

Using published detection rules and hunt queries to defend your own organization's environment is considered internal defensive use and is permitted. Entities or individuals wishing to use the Content for other commercial purposes must request authorization by contacting contact@redsheepsec.com. Approval is granted at the sole discretion of the owner.

2.3 Third-Party Data

Portions of the Site's tracker data are derived from third-party sources — including ransomware.live, the NIST National Vulnerability Database, the CISA KEV catalog, FIRST EPSS, and MITRE ATT&CK®. RedSheep Security cannot and does not grant rights over that upstream data; your use of it remains subject to the respective source's own terms, and those sources should be credited directly. See Data Sources & Attribution for the full list.

3. Attribution

Users of the Content must credit RedSheep Security in any publication, research, or derivative work that utilizes it. The recommended citation is:

"Source: RedSheep Security (redsheepsec.com)"

4. Disclaimer

The Content is provided "as is" without any warranties, express or implied. RedSheep Security makes no guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the Content. Detection rules and hunt queries are published for defensive use and must be validated and tuned before production deployment. The owner of RedSheep Security is not liable for any damages or losses resulting from the use of the Content. See the full Disclaimer for more.

Access may be interrupted, suspended, or discontinued at any time, in whole or in part, without prior notice and without any liability. Users should not rely on the Site as their sole source of information for operational or time-critical purposes, and no service-level agreement (SLA) is offered or implied.

6. Amendments

RedSheep Security reserves the right to update or modify these T&C at any time. Continued use of the Content constitutes acceptance of the latest version of these T&C.
